This head of hair has been a piece of art for a while now. We have been through a color correction to going lighter and lighter and now giving this beaut a more natural look. So I created the look of a balayage. but in a reverse application method. I love a good hair project! This process took close to 7 hrs to complete. They're multiple steps I needed to take to give her this seamless most natural looking finish. As you can see in the before photo below she was a warm buttery blonde which was 6 months old. It was time for a change, a hair color with even less maintenance. How could we resist? Below are the steps and products we used in the process as well as a short video demonstration. I am totally obsessed with my new Nikon Coolpix camera. All the pictures and video taken for this topic was shot and filmed with the Nikon Coolpix. I could not have created such a brilliant share and tutorial with out the most amazing people by my side @salonnova. I want to thank Tess, Rachael, Angelica, and Heather for all of your hard work and assistance through this FUN process. This process took place at Salon NOVA on Tuesday. We were able to really have fun and share our passion for hair together, since we had a quiet morning thanks to the snowy day. My beautiful model Allison had requested for something new. We had conversed over a few picture and decided we want something edgy but yet pretty and soft. I believe leaving a root with depth and a bit of dimension will give you that soft pretty finish apposed to lightening the root. This it self is an art, which you will view in the video below when I create almost a dread lock effect while the lightener is on the hair. We used a combination of different products through the process. I got to try the new Instamatic's from Wella in the shade Ocean Storm. This is truly a master piece and one of its kind. Customized Hair color. #LOVE #CREATIVEHAIRDRESSING #TEAMNOVA
Why is Wella's Freelights special? How does it differ from ordinary lighteners?
Steps I used to create this look
This lovely lady came in to me a few weeks ago on a search for a stylist who could get her to the shade of blonde she was looking for. She had gotten highlights from another stylist but was not satisfied. We scheduled her service after an in depth consultation. I informed her that we might not get her to the exact shade desired in one session. Needless to say I was very pleased with our results. One more round and she'll be at her final result. The transition to lighter doesn't have to be boring. We can morph into something new each service with little tweaks here and there and eventually you'll feel like a new person. the process...
